In early 2022, Ghost Partners approached Watermark Creative to create some art pieces for their brand materials around the idea of ‘Moving things unseen’ about creating change and moving their clients’ business forward.

The images were to feature a single inanimate prop, that has been affected in some way, whether by natural forces or creative ones, lit beautifully, but be fully believable.

The first image series was to be set in a warehouse space with butterflies emerging from a grand piano.

We slowly developed the warehouse space, adding props and details. Once all the elements were in place, we developed some moody lighting which focusses the eye on the hero piano and butterfly elements. VDBs were used for the 3D fog effect to add atmosphere and depth to the lighting.

After the first image was created, two more perspectives were developed using the same scene file.
