A series based on Edward Hopper paintings around the themes of isolation and solitude in the age of COVID.

Hopper worked with themes of solitude, loneliness, boredom, and resignation, which felt in sync with how I have been feeling during multiple lockdowns in Melbourne, Australia.

Lockdown has at times felt suffocating and lonely - other times it has been meditative and centering.

I wanted to explore these ideas using common garden insects like ants and snails, the 'workers' of the insect world, placing them in Edward Hopper's sparse interiors with stark lighting and see how they would deal with things in the age of COVID.

Created in Cinema 4D and rendered with Octane Render.
